I am Meinhard Büchner, dental technician since 1981 and since 1988 owner of Büchner Dental Technology.
My experience with CMD splints has led me down an unusual but successful path: from treating jaw misalignments to solving snoring and finally to the AirwayPerfect Splint against sleep apnea.
Our Story – From the Idea to the AirwayPerfect® Splint
The origin was in the area CMD (craniomandibular dysfunction)
Many patient*s reported that they no longer snore.
These rails used multi-patented power wedges™, special sliding surfaces that keep the lower jaw movable, relieve tension and protect the teeth. Especially in the sports sector – among professionals and recreational athletes such as boxers, skiers or ice hockey players– they led to astonishing improvements in performance.
When I created the function of Snoring splints with CMD rails compared, I found:
Many common models for snoring or sleep apnea are uncomfortable, difficult to adjust, and not very durable. My idea: Develop a new rail that combines the advantages of both systems and avoids the disadvantages.
After many evenings of designing, testing, discarding, and improving, it was 2018: The AirwayPerfect® anti-snoring splint was born – compact, stable, individually adjustable, and made of comfortable material.
